Second story addition on Sunset

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

second story 1This used to be a ranch house. We added a full second story and a 2 story addition off of the back. Sorry there are no before pictures.
There is a  full walk up attic, it is huge and ready for many years of  storage or could be finished off. The rear addition made a wonderful breakfast area on the first floor, as well as a unique bedroom above with a cute sloping ceiling and all sorts of cubbies in the knee wall areas. The brick work added to the front and both sides makes it difficult to tell the renovation was ever done to this house. We at HomeCrafters strive to match the existing style of your house both out of a love of building as well as out of respect for your one of a kind house.

Second story on Beechwood

Monday, December 15th, 2008

second story 2This unique University of Richmond neighborhood is prime for making ranch houses into two story houses like we did here. This project, which we completed in 2002, took about four months and added about $250,000 value to the house. The cost for most of these projects is around half of the appraised value. The project below has a new second story as well as a full walk up attic. Also there is a 2 story addition added onto the back that helps to make this a nice 5 bedroom house.

Second story addition in Henrico County

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

house-beforeHomeCrafters was contracted to add a second story to this nice home in the West End. We completed the bulk of this project in 6 months. The home owners, as with most of our customers, lived here the entire time. Remarkably as with the majoity of our customers we are still on good terms.
